1st Annual Criminal Justice and Fire Science Car & Bike Show
These are a few photos taken at the 1st
Annual Criminal Justice and Fire Science Car Show at Southside Virginia Community College in Alberta, VA.
Chad Patton is the director at the college that headed up the show. The Students worked hard for several months to make
this show a success. They were there early on Saturday, July 29, and worked hard in the heat to make it one of the
best shows we have attended. Next year this show will be even bigger and better. You can bet on it. All the money will
be placed in an Endowed Scholarship fund to help with student loans, etc.
The weather was beautiful the day of the show. It was well attended by auto and bike hobbyists, and several vendors.
Everyone had a good time and can't wait until the 2nd show at the college. There were about 100 cars, bikes, and trucks registered. Plus. about 20 or
so EMS, Fire, and Police vehicles. They included one of the most beautiful green 1949 Mercury Customs we have seen anywhere. It was an electric
green color that jumped at you. There were also antiques, classics, low riders, race cars, race trucks, street rods,
custom trucks, specialty vehicles, and anything else you might imagine. The Town of Alberta brought in it's brand new fire truck.
It was the biggest we have seen. There were police cruisers also there from all around. They came from Alberta, Brunswick County,
Mecklenburg County, Town of South Hill, Town of Lawrenceville, and the Town of Blackstone. There was also a state police cruiser that arrived
to compete for the cleanest cruiser displayed. These were all well maintained vehicles and they had been cleaned and polished just for this event.
Chad Patton and his staff at the college deserve a big hand for a job well done. They worked hard, as we all know, to get ready for for this show
and then worked hard all day. You can bet the show will attract many more cars, trucks, and bikes next year. And considering the great cause
for the show, we know the participants attending will help get the word out to make it so. Chad made a commitment to the students and college
and he showed that he is in it for the long haul.
