There was a special breakfast held on March 10, 2007, in Newport News to Benefit the Adopt A Cop Program in the Newport News-Yorktown area.
This event had approximately 140 people attend and many also obtained the Proud Sponsor "Adopt A Cop" decal or magnet. We had
car people from Va Beach to Maryland and those between. There were many law enforcement officers in attendance.
York -Poquoson Sheriff Danny Diggs and Adopt A Cop Chairman Dave Arnold (Capt at VPRJ) are shown discussing the AAC
program coordinated by the VPCCC - Virginia Peninsula Car Club Council. They are pictured above standing by the 1963
Ford "Police Car" of Sally & Larry Hanson.
Harold D. Hartel, President of the Virginia Peninsular Car Club Council said after the event, "This event was a big success." He expressed his appreciation to Mr.
Larry Sigmon, who not only suggested this event, but lead it as the Head Chef! In addition, he thanked all the Classic Cruisers who made up the majority
of the workers. Hal was so appreciative and thanked all of those who supported this AAC program event and any future ones.
While many clubs were represented from the Virginia Peninsula Car Club Council, the Chrysler 300 Club brought nearly all their
members and even a couple guests ... all this from a fairly new club!
It just goes to show what can happen, when a group of citizens, who are also car hobbyists, put their minds together to help the Police Officers that protect them
daily and their community. For more info on this event and future events, please contact Captain Dave Arnold, AAC Program Coordinator and Chairman of Adopt A Cop for the VPCCC by
